For almost twenty years, Papertex has provided consultancy services to a range of industries mainly focusing on business development or chemistry. Below are some examples of the nature of the projects we have been involved with. Please browse through these and get in touch if you think we can help your company.
Internal Sizing System for paper and board
Provided global support to an international chemical company to roll out internal sizing system based on alkenyl succinic anhydride (ASA). Helped with marketing, sales, equipment and on-site application of technology, providing training and hands-on support. Worked in Europe, North, Central and South America, Africa, Asia and Australia.
Similar services have been supplied to smaller local chemical companies.
Provided guidance to medium sized, family owned chemical company to break into municipal water treatment market. Designed and wrote tender response; worked with company team to make sales calls and customer presentations; provided HSEQ advice to ensure standards were met. Achieved new business that gave 40% sales growth in first year.
Modelling of complex industrial water systems
Working with advanced modelling software to model water flow and chemistry of complex industrial water systems, we developed “what if” scenarios to establish the anticipated impact of process or system design changes to both water equipment and operations. Provided reports assessing both the technical and the economic impact of proposed changes and avoiding unintended consequences. More…
Pigment sourcing to reduce costs and improve quality
Worked with industrial pigment consumers (purchasing and technical) to identify and source alternative pigments to reduce costs, improve logistics and enhance quality. This covers pearlescent pigments, high performance pigments and more common products for masterbatch and ink manufacturers.
Carried out audits of water systems in pulp and paper mills and other industrial facilities. Established current water flows and costs throughout the plant; identified potential water and energy losses and suggested opportunities for water reuse or recycling. Full report with details of each potential saving quantified and costed.
Chemical review of paper machine wet-end
Evaluation of existing chemical additives used on paper machine, looking at the advantages and disadvantages of each product. Act on behalf of owner to work with existing or potential chemical suppliers to optimise existing operations and develop alternatives that can offer reduced costs and/or improved quality and operations.
